JSC Eastern Energy Company exported over 630 million kW/h of electrical energy for the first quarter of 2015
For the first three months of 2015 JSC Eastern Energy Company exported electrical energy to China and Mongolia in the amount of more than 630 million kW/h of electrical energy.
In 1Q 2015, JSC EEC exported 575 million kWh of electricity to China and 56 million kWh to Mongolia, or 28.2 percent and 23.4 percent less year-on-year, respectively. A decrease in the electricity exports to China resulted from a change in the supply contract schedule which was agreed with the Chinese customer and provided for the redistribution of some export volumes from the winter to the summer period (nevertheless, JSC EEC plans to keep the full year electricity exports at the previous year’s level). A relative decrease in the electricity exports to Mongolia was due to the launch of the new power unit at Ulan-Bator TPP-4 in Mongolia.
Technology-wise, electricity export to China is enabled by a complex of interstate 110, 220 and 500 kV power transmission lines, which link the power systems of the Russian Far East and the Northeastern Provinces of China.
Export is ensured by means of procurement of excessive volumes of electric energy in the territory of the Far East, driving an increase in the capacity factor and the growth of additional revenue across regional generating enterprises and wholesale infrastructure organizations.
