EASTERN ENERGY COMPANY EXPORTED OVER 3.58 BILLION KW/H OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY FOR THE FULL YEAR 2015

In 2015 PJS Eastern Energy Company exported to China and Mongolia over 3.58 billion kW/h of electrical energy

Overall, in 2015, JSC EEC exported 3.299 billion kWh of electricity, which is 2.3 percent lower than in 2014 (3.376 billion kWh). A relative year-on-year decrease in the electricity exports to China was due to the lower electricity consumption in Heilongjiang province.

By end-2015, JSC EEC exported 284.45 million kWh of electricity to Mongolia, or 27.1 percent below the 2014 level (390 million kWh). Lower electricity exports to Mongolia were due to a fall in the industrial production in Mongolia, as well as the launch of the new power unit at Ulan-Bator TPP-4.

Technology-wise, electricity export to China is enabled by a complex of interstate 110, 220 and 500 kV power transmission lines, which link the power systems of the Russian Far East and the Northeastern Provinces of China.
Export is ensured by means of procurement of excessive volumes of electric energy in the territory of the Far East, driving an increase in the capacity factor and the growth of additional revenue across regional generating enterprises and wholesale infrastructure organizations.
