JSC Eastern Energy Company supported "Amur Autumn 2012" Festival
JSC Eastern Energy Company has become the official partner of the 10th cinema and theatrical festival Amur Autumn.
The open Russian Amur Autumn cinema and theatrical festival took place from 15 to 23 of September. In one week, seven sites in Blagoveschensk hosted 11 performances and 13 movie shows. The region’s residents could see the festival films not just in cinemas but on the TV due to live broadcasting at the First Regional Channel. The festival’s geography has expanded this year – guest performances, concerts and meetings with actors were organized in 8 towns and 20 settlements of the Amur Region.
The organizers arranged a number of mass and charity releases which enabled a big number of residents to see the festival’s program. A famous French actor Pierre Richard became the honorary guest of Amur Autumn.
Grand Prix of the festival was awarded to Daughter, Director Alexander Kasatkin. The best script award was granted to Avdotja Smirnova’s Kokoko. The prize of film critics and experts went to Alexander Proshkin’s Redemption. The best actor was awarded to Vladimir Svirsky for acting delivered in In the Mist. The best actress was Maria Shalaeva in I’ll be Around. The best theatrical performance award was granted to Dmitry Kharatyan, performance Mata Hari: Love and Espionage. Valeria Lanskaya received the best theatrical actress award for her part in Saved Love. The best performance was granted to Duck Hunting directed by Pavel Safonov.
JSC Eastern Energy Company has its regional office in Blagoveschensk. Today, the Company undertakes most of its power export increase operations in the Amur Region. Therefore, we feel closely connected to this region and its growth, including cultural development. This involvement is expressed in the Company’s annual support of one of the biggest cultural events – Amur Autumn festival. The festival promotes the best traditions of Russian cinematography, assists in building contacts with the cinematographers of China, Korea and Japan and continuously expands it coverage. Moreover, Amur Autumn festival encourages the creation of a special atmosphere in Blagoveschensk making it a center of cultural attraction and a unique urban environment, said Mikhail Shashmurin, General Director of JSC Eastern Energy Company.
After the festival, on September 23 – 29, the delegation of Russian actors visited Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province of China, bordering the Amur Region. In Harbin, the guests visited memorial places under the patronage of Amur Autumn Festival and the Russian Arts Museum in Harbin established in 1994.
